About Us

Alex and Mima kicked off their career as creative directors and designers at The Collective, an award-winning design firm. Over the years, their love and passion for all things paper and visual storytelling led them to a natural progression and the opening of Alex + Mima in 2015. As a small studio designing and creating one-of-a-kind event invitations and focusing on great design, innovative typography, unexpected materials, attention to every detail, and the artisan crafts of bookbinding, gilding, and letterpress. Their approach quickly drew world-renowned event planners' and clients' attention. In addition, they were fortunate to work with and learn from some of the industry's leading voices early on. All of this has led them to design invitations and brand events from small intimate weddings to galas with over fifteen thousand attendees.

Over the last seven years, the small studio grew into a much larger space. Still, they design, manufacture, and assemble every single piece in their studio. Their love of design is never prioritized over their understanding of the importance of timing and delivery.

Clients include: CNN, Michelin, September 11 Memorial and Museum, Ford Models, Bloomberg, IPG Media Brands, The Economist, RNC, American Heart Association, Conde Nast, Cartier, Christian Dior and numerous hospital foundations, museums and non-profits.
